Jeffro's piece for Artificial Dissemination 2

Jeffro Kilpatrick created this piece for the Artificial Dissemination show this weekend at Phantom Hand. This 17" x 11" poster sized pen and ink drawing is a resurrection of his "Meet Your Neighbors" strip, a weekly true-to-life comic that ran on the Philly Turkey's website for almost two years. Jeffro will be donating all of his proceeds from the sale of this piece to the Philadelphia Committee to End Homelessness. Make sure to stop out this weekend and see all of the awesome work hanging at the gallery.

Last Night

Friends,
Last night we wrapped up Out to Dry 3 at Phantom Hand. Thank you so much to everybody who braved the weather and helped us send off this show in bourbon soaked style. Thanks to the artists, patrons, organizers, and random tourists and south-street shoppers for making our inaugural show a success. Out to Dry 3 was populated by over 50 Philadelphia artists, and well over 400 pieces of artwork.

If there was a particular print you wanted to snag but couldn't make the closing, don't fret; some of the artwork from this exhibition will still be on display at the gallery over the next few weeks.
This Friday, January 27th is the opening reception for Artificial Dissemination; Propaganda to Popaganda. The artwork has already started to trickle in and appear on blogs, and if these sneak-peeks are an indicator, this is going to be a bad-ass show. Check out the facebook event-page HERE.

Braulio Amado's "Houdini"

We're all pretty siked to annouce that Braulio Amado's "Houdini" opens Feb. 4th and will run through the 18th. Check out some of his work here. And you can read the press release below:

Houdini is a travelling exhibition by Braulio Amado. Inspired by the greatest magician that ever lived, the series alludes to abstract universes and fantasies, exploring mind tricks and the possibilities of the impossible. The pieces invoke the unexpected and draw from raging sounds, like those of the Melvin's "Houdini" record. Expect weird stuff.
Braulio Amado is a portuguese kid born in '87 who recently moved to NYC. He works as a graphic designer for Pentagram Design and is the director of "Pedal," a free monthly newspaper in Portugal. He plays music and tours the world with his band "Adorno."
