Phantom Hand: PICTURES OF HANDS

This set of photos was taken at Phantom Hand's original location at

604 South Street, Philadelphia, spanning December, 2011 through May 2012.

ABOUT

Phantom hand was an artist-run gallery space, now a free-floating artist unit, created by a small group of Philadelphia Illustrators. This space was provided by The Arts on South program. Pulling from the wide-variety of local art institutions, societies, clans, brotherhoods and esoteric orders; Phantom Hand hosted 5 themed exhibitions showcasing the visually challenging, awe inspiring, horrifying, beautiful, and awkward, as well as drawing sessions, live music, and quickly became a place for Philadelphia artists to congregate. The first incarnation of Phantom Hand closed its doors June 1st to become a billboard. The group continues to curate exhibitions in Philadelphia, and is about to start it's 2013 season at Jinxed at the Piazza in Northern Liberties.
