Phantom hand was an
artist-run gallery space, now a free-floating artist unit, created by a
small group of Philadelphia Illustrators. This space was provided by The
Arts on South
program. Pulling from the wide-variety of local art institutions,
societies, clans, brotherhoods and esoteric orders; Phantom Hand hosted 5
themed exhibitions showcasing the visually challenging, awe inspiring,
horrifying, beautiful, and awkward, as well as drawing sessions, live
music, and quickly became a place for Philadelphia artists to
congregate. The first incarnation of Phantom Hand closed its doors June
1st to become a billboard. The group continues to curate exhibitions in
Philadelphia, and is about to start it's 2013 season at
Jinxed at the Piazza in Northern Liberties.
